Geode Problems and Fixes: The Complete List

Missing menus, sulking mods, update tangles and launch failures: every common Geode problem in one place, in the order to try its fixes.

The Geode launcher home screen with Launch button

Nearly every Geode problem is one of six problems wearing a disguise. This page keeps the full list together, in fix order, gathered from reader mail and rack testing for Geode official site.

Launching and menus

Mod menu missing means the framework did not load: launch through the launcher, let first-time setup finish, and check version harmony in the About panel. Launcher cannot find the game means Geometry Dash is absent, or installed under a different profile or clone; the framework only sees the main install.

Mods and updates

A broken mod after an update wants its own update, or a short disable while its author catches up; a crashing library wants the isolation method from our crash guide, most recent additions first. Framework behaving oddly after any change usually settles when game, loader and mods are all current at once.

Performance and feel

Heat and stutter answer to the framerate cap and lighter visual choices; a crowded window answers to screen zoom; a launcher that feels like a chore answers to automatic launch. Nine problems in ten on this page end in a settings row, not a reinstall. Work the list in order, and the Geode APK almost always comes back quietly. Still stuck after the list? Reinstall the current Geode APK over the top and run the update check once more.

Quick Answers

What fixes the most Geode problems at once?

Updating everything: game, launcher and mods, then launching through the launcher. Version drift causes the majority of issues.

Geode says my game is missing but it is installed. Why?

Check for cloned apps and secondary profiles; the launcher looks for the standard install under your main profile.

Should I clear the game data to fix problems?

Almost never, and only understanding it may affect local data. Work this page's list first; data wipes are the last resort, not the first.
