Launcher Version vs Loader Version: The Two Numbers in Geode's About Screen

Why the About panel lists several versions, which one the APK table on this site means, and which one a mod is asking about.

Geode advanced settings and About panel with versions

Open the launcher's About panel and you will meet a small crowd of version numbers: the Android launcher, the framework it installed, and your Geometry Dash build. This guide assigns each number its job, so update day stops being confusing. If the launcher itself needs refreshing, the current build waits on the Geode download page.

The launcher version

This is the app you install from the APK: the doorman. It changes rarely, and when this site's APK table lists a version, this is the number it means. You update it by installing the new file over the old one.

The framework (loader) version

This is the machinery the launcher installs and maintains inside the game. It updates far more often, usually automatically, and it is the number mods care about: a mod description talking about loader requirements means this line.

The game version

Your Geometry Dash build, shown for reference because compatibility is a three-body problem. When a guide asks for your versions, send all three lines from About; that panel is the whole diagnosis in one screenshot. Three numbers, three jobs, and the Geode APK keeps two of them current for you.

Quick Answers

Which version should I quote when asking for help?

All three from the About panel: launcher, framework and game. Helpers will thank you.

Why do the numbers not match each other?

They are separate pieces of software on separate release rhythms. Mismatched numbers are normal and healthy.

Does updating the launcher update the framework?

The launcher maintains the framework, including its updates, as part of its job.
